The money management method I suggested to Mr. A was the bagged management method.
This is a method of managing monthly living expenses by setting a budget for each use, such as food, miscellaneous expenses, etc., and putting them in a bag.
The reason I suggested this method is that Mr. A’s salary is paid in cash, even nowadays.
Because of this, Mr. A was doing his shopping in cash, and was living an almost credit-card free life.
Taking the above lifestyle into consideration, I suggested that they “try to manage their living expenses excluding fixed costs such as rent by dividing them into bags according to their budget for the time being.” I told them that they should watch the many videos on YouTube of people showing how to do this and create their own bagging method.
There are many ways to manage food expenses, including weekly budgeting and monthly budgeting, so we decided to only make suggestions and leave the rest up to Ms. A, including whether or not she would do so, because we thought that having her watch various videos and find a way that suited her would lead her to think and act on her own.
After returning home, she immediately watched various videos and began to find her own way to separate and manage the bags.
And along with starting to manage the baggage, I began to reevaluate how I had been spending my money and started to save a little more.
