The words caught my eye as I was casually browsing through an article on the Internet.
‘It is you who must save yourself. You cannot save others, you must not save yourself. It means you must walk your own path.”
The only way to make suffering go away is to change yourself.”
Both are words of the Buddha.
I am not a believer in Buddha or anything, but I thought after reading this that I am someone who is helping people to put these words into practice.
It is you who must save yourself. And the only way to make suffering disappear is to change yourself.”
That is certainly true. But humans are weak and it is far too difficult to do this alone.
So I felt that I was “someone who helps people who are trying to change themselves to become people who can save themselves,” and that is me.
Spiritually, many may think it is “my role given from heaven,” but in my case, I think it is not and that the act of helping is a rite of passage.
And as it is written, “You cannot and should not save others,” I have not and will not save them. I only help them.
Because if you save them, they become weak on their own.
I also think it is an absurd idea to save others.
Self-sufficiency is very important in “walking one’s own path.
I believe that every human being has the power to walk his or her own path.
However, if for various reasons that self-power has weakened and they are unable to walk their own path, I think it would be good to have someone to help them walk their own path.
